Designer – CAD

We are seeking a skilled Designer – CAD to join our engineering team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. As a Designer – CAD, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining CAD models, manufacturing and assembly drawings, balloon drawings, and DIRs within PDM/PLM systems. You will prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), coordinate with cross-functional teams for approvals, and ensure timely completion of tasks in line with quality metrics and established effort hours. This is a full-time, onsite position ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in mechanical design and CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design or redesign complex models and drawings based on general written or verbal specifications according to project requirements.
• Produce CAD drawings for new or improved products using Armstrong standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with other teams to obtain reference information for drawings.
• Review design models to identify and resolve compatibility issues with basic design concepts.
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
• Make necessary corrections to drawings through Engineering Approval Requests (EAR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) as required.
• Create and update a database of design records for future reference.
• Assist the team in CAD drawing and designing tasks.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for DCR/ECO/EAR implementations.
• Participate in engineering and manufacturing design reviews to evaluate design concepts and provide recommendations.

Requirements

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical/Tool & Die Design from a reputed institute.
• In-plant/Apprenticeship Training in Design (Mechanical) from a reputed institute/organization.
• Freshers or 1-2 years of experience (total experience 1-3 years considered).
• Good understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Hands-on experience in 3D modeling and 2D drafting of parts using industry-standard CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) certification is an advantage.
• Experience in creating manufacturing and assembly drawings per ASME/DIN/BIS drafting standards.
• ERP knowledge is an added advantage.
• Understanding of change order implementation.
• Good knowledge of commonly used materials in the industry, their key mechanical properties, and applications.
• Experience in the pumping products manufacturing industry is an advantage.
• Good communication skills.
