Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer with 4-6 years of experience to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing verification activities for embedded robotic control software, including both manual and automated test protocols. You will work with limited supervision and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute verification activities for embedded robotic control software, both manual and automated test protocols.
• Execute software verification tests on simulator and hardware platforms.
• Author medical device documentation including URS, FDS, test cases, test protocols, verification reports, ABR, and DHF artifacts for regulatory submissions.
• Perform software verification using MATLAB and Python test scripts, debug issues, and analyze diagnostic data.
• Utilize test management tools like JAMA with full traceability to software requirements for regulatory compliance.
• Produce complete, concise, clear, and technically correct test reports, validation summaries, and traceability matrices.
• Create and track software defect records in JIRA with detailed reproduction steps and diagnostic logs.
• Report test execution status of passed and failed requirements to the test lead and program management.
• Drive initiatives to improve product testing processes and suggest technical enhancements.
• Support test reviews and independently handle end-to-end feature testing and system testing.
• Develop automated test scripts using Python and MATLAB frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, systems engineers, and regulatory affairs.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in V&V Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Python for test development.
• Experience with designing and implementing automated testing scripts.
• Familiarity with robotic systems testing or mechatronic systems and understanding of real-time embedded systems, EtherCAT, motor control, or similar technologies.
• Experience in medical device or regulated product development, Software Development Life Cycle processes, and Application Lifecycle Management tools.
• Knowledge of automation/programming frameworks like Python and MATLAB.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in embedded development environments.
• Experience using requirements management and test tools (e.g., JAMA, MKS).
