UI/UX Lead Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Lead Engineer ? UI/UX to strengthen the IoT Smart Data team within the Transit Software organization in Bengaluru. The role will play a key part in designing and developing high-quality, user-centric web applications, driving UI/UX best practices, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build intuitive, accessible user experiences for web applications used within Wabtec Transit IoT and Smart Data products.
• Translate user needs and Figma designs into high-quality Angular interfaces using TypeScript and collaborate with backend engineers to integrate performance APIs and services.
• Develop and enhance Angular web applications using TypeScript, delivering user-focused features from backlog through to release.
• Partner with UX and product stakeholders to understand user needs, validate designs, and ensure the delivered UI matches intent and constraints.
• Implement UI quality practices including unit/integration tests, linting, and peer review to maintain a high standard of engineering.
• Work with backend engineers to define and consume APIs, troubleshoot integration issues, and contribute where needed to Go services.
• Estimate, plan, and deliver work in an agile/scrum environment, contributing to sprint ceremonies and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain UI documentation (components, patterns, and usage guidance) to support consistent delivery across teams.
• Maintain source control (Git) and CI practice front-end builds, ensuring reliable releases and traceability.
• Proactively engage with cross-functional teams (product, UX, backend, security, DevOps) to resolve issues and deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor?s/Master?s degree in CS/E&C/IS/IT/EEE with Overall Working experience of 5+ Years.
• Proven work experience as a UI/UX Engineer (or Front-End Engineer with strong UX focus) delivering production web applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Should be very good in verbal and written English communication.
