UAT Analyst
The Vendor / Outsourced UAT Analyst will support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for fraud control systems, including portals and rule-based testing for risk management functionalities within banking and payment platforms. This role entails validating risk rules, fraud detection logic, and compliance controls, with a focus on card-based and instant cross-border payment transactions. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to infrastructure projects and strategic partnerships where EFRM rules are to be developed, configured, and tested. The resource will work closely with internal Business, Risk, Product, and Technology teams within NIPL and NPCI G, during defined UAT cycles, operating under agreed scope, timelines, and deliverables as per vendor engagement terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute UAT test cases for risk management rules, including fraud detection rules, transaction limits and velocity checks, and exception handling and decline logic.
- Validate system behaviour against approved business requirements and documented risk and compliance requirements.
- Perform manual UAT testing for card-based payment flows, instant payment schemes, and cross-border transaction scenarios.
- Ensure test execution is completed as per UAT plans and partner?s delivery timelines.
- Test and validate risk rules related to rule parameters, thresholds, and scoring logic, false positive identification, and decline scenarios, as well as regulatory or compliance-driven controls.
- Verify that rule outcomes align with risk policies and stakeholder-approved acceptance criteria.
- Highlight gaps or deviations between expected and actual system behaviour.
- Log, track, and retest defects using the agreed defect management tool or process.
- Clearly document expected vs actual results, test steps, and relevant supporting evidence (screenshots, logs, data).
- Collaborate with internal Development and QA teams to support defect triage, validate fixes, and confirm closure within the agreed SLA.
- Assist in preparation of UAT deliverables, including UAT test cases and execution status reports, defect summaries, and trend analysis.
- Support the creation and maintenance of audit evidence and compliance and regulatory review artefacts.
- Ensure documentation meets internal quality and vendor governance standards.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Business Analysts, Risk Managers, Product Owners, and Technology and Development teams.
- Participate in UAT walkthroughs, defect triage calls, and UAT sign-off discussions.
- Provide structured feedback on usability and business and operational impact of implemented risk rules.
- Operate within vendor engagement boundaries, escalation paths, and communication protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor?s degree from a recognised institution.
- Basic understanding of UAT testing concepts and methodologies, banking or payment systems, manual testing practices, test case creation and execution.
- Proficiency in MS Excel for test data management and UAT tracking and reporting.
- Ability to read and understand business requirements and risk rule logic.
- Execute and document UAT test cases related to risk management or fraud detection systems, card networks, and instant payment systems.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn about banking risk, fraud trends, regulatory and compliance requirements, and cross-border transaction scenarios.
- Ability to work in a structured, process-driven, vendor-managed environment.
