Simulator Software Engineer - ACTTS Project/AWACS Lab

We are seeking a talented Simulator Software Engineer to join our team for the ACTTS Project and AWACS Lab. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in developing Windows-based simulator software for training and testing systems, with a strong focus on C++, networking, and software engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulator software, models, and algorithms.
• Develop and optimize applications using C++, VC++ (MFC), and C#.
• Implement and debug network modules (TCP/IP, UDP, sockets).
• Ensure reliable network communication between simulation modules.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and performance optimization.
• Follow software engineering best practices across the project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration.
• Build and optimize high-performance C++ applications for distributed and networked simulation systems.
• Ensure robust inter-module communication.

Requirements

• Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in C++ programming.
• Experience with VC++ and MFC (Windows applications).
• Working knowledge of C# (.NET) and C++ integration.
• Good understanding of networking concepts.
• Familiarity with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with Git / SVN.
• Knowledge of TCP/UDP socket programming.
• Understanding of distributed / real-time systems.
• Exposure to aerospace or defense simulators is preferred.
