The Senior MEP BIM Lead is responsible for the end-to-end BIM strategy, coordination, and delivery of MEP systems across complex projects such as data centers, commercial developments, and infrastructure works. This role functions as a digital delivery leader, ensuring BIM is implemented as a core project control tool rather than just a modeling exercise. The candidate will manage multidisciplinary coordination, lead federated model development, and ensure that all MEP systems are clash-free, constructible, and aligned with project timelines and standards. The candidate will interface with clients, consultants, and contractors, particularly in fast-track environments. Experience in GCC projects is highly advantageous, along with strong knowledge of standards like ISO 19650 and implementation of CDE platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) aligned with project and client requirements; define BIM workflows, LOD/LOI standards, and data exchange protocols; manage end-to-end BIM delivery ensuring coordinated, high-quality models and documentation across all project stages.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination across MEP, Architecture, and Structural teams; manage clash detection and resolution processes; ensure integration of complex MEP systems within overall project design and construction constraints.
- Lead and mentor BIM engineers and coordinators; assign responsibilities and monitor deliverables; drive performance, quality, and adherence to timelines within a multidisciplinary BIM environment.
- Establish and enforce BIM standards in line with ISO 19650, client specifications, and regional codes (e.g., SBC); implement QA/QC procedures and conduct model audits to ensure compliance, consistency, and data integrity.
- Integrate BIM models with project schedules (4D) and cost data (5D); support construction sequencing, quantity take-offs, and cost analysis; enable simulation, tracking, and reporting for improved project control.
- Manage Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC); ensure proper model versioning, document control, and information flow; support digital transformation initiatives and BIM automation workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in BIM with a strong focus on MEP systems; experience in large-scale EPC, data centers, or infrastructure projects.
- Technical Skills: Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC; clash detection; MEP modeling and coordination; 4D/5D BIM tools; CDE workflows.
- Standards: ISO 19650; BIM standards and protocols; regional codes (SBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and coordination skills in multidisciplinary environments.
