We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Lead Engineer with 5 to 10 years of expertise in building scalable backend systems using Python and AWS. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technologist with strong leadership skills, capable of designing cloud-native microservices, guiding engineering best practices, and mentoring teams to deliver reliable, secure, and observable production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development (Python): Design and build robust services using Python with clean architecture, reusable components, and strong unit/integration testing.
• Microservices & API Design: Own API contracts, implement versioning, backward compatibility, and performance best practices for distributed systems.
• AWS Cloud Engineering: Design and operate solutions on AWS using services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, CloudFront, and Route 53.
• Infrastructure as Code: Build repeatable environments using Terraform/CloudFormation, and apply best practices for networking, IAM, encryption, and least privilege access.
• CI/CD & Release Engineering: Implement and improve pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions/Jenkins/CodePipeline) for build, test, security scans, and automated deployments.
• Observability & Reliability: Establish logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and SLOs; troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause fixes and performance tuning.
• Data & Integrations: Integrate with relational and NoSQL databases, caching (Redis), and streaming/queueing; ensure data quality, consistency, and secure access patterns.
• Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with Product, QA, SRE/DevOps, and Security to deliver outcomes; mentor engineers, drive code reviews, and promote engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5?10 years of experience building backend platforms and APIs, with strong hands-on Python expertise.
• Excellent knowledge of Python fundamentals, concurrency (asyncio), packaging, and performance profiling.
• Strong experience with AWS core services (compute, networking, storage, databases, messaging) and cloud-native design patterns.
• Microservices architecture, distributed systems fundamentals, and API security (OAuth2/JWT, secrets management).
• Experience with containers (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS), and service-to-service communication patterns.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and CI/CD best practices.
• Observability tooling and operational excellence mindset (monitoring, alerting, incident response).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead design discussions and mentor engineers.
