Risk Analyst (Market Risk / Counterparty Credit Risk)

We are seeking a highly analytical Risk Analyst with 5?8 years of experience in Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk within financial services or trading environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and monitoring risk controls, performing data analysis, and supporting risk mitigation initiatives across trading operations. The role requires strong expertise in analytics tools such as Python, SQL, Tableau, and Excel, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with business, trading, and risk stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze market risk and counterparty credit risk exposures across trading portfolios.
  • Design, implement, and enhance risk controls, reports, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Perform risk analytics using Python, SQL, Tableau, and Excel to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Support daily risk reporting activities including VaR, stress testing, exposure analysis, and limit monitoring.
  • Investigate breaches, exceptions, and unusual trading activities, and provide remediation recommendations.
  • Collaborate with front office, trading, finance, and technology teams to improve risk management processes.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations for risk metrics and management reporting.
  • Conduct data validation and ensure accuracy and integrity of risk data.
  • Assist in regulatory reporting, audit requests, and compliance-related activities.
  • Support automation and process improvement initiatives within risk operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5?8 years of experience in Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, or Risk Analytics roles.
  • Strong understanding of financial products including derivatives, fixed income, FX, and equities.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Tableau, and advanced Excel.
  • Knowledge of market risk concepts such as VaR, stress testing, sensitivities, and exposure calculations.
  • Experience designing and monitoring risk controls in trading environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and generate actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and risk governance frameworks.
