Senior Data Scientist ? Time Series Forecasting

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist specializing in time series forecasting to join our team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end design, development, validation, and deployment of robust and scalable forecasting models to address a variety of business needs, such as demand forecasting, sales prediction, resource allocation, and financial modeling. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage advanced statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques, and drive innovation in forecasting methodologies. This is a full-time position open to candidates with any educational background who possess 6?10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Forecasting Solutions: Lead the design, development, validation, and deployment of scalable time series forecasting models for diverse business applications.
• Data Analysis & Feature Engineering: Conduct exploratory data analysis on time-series datasets to identify trends, seasonality, cycles, and anomalies; perform feature engineering to enhance model performance.
• Model Selection & Development: Research, evaluate, and implement a range of forecasting techniques, including classical statistical methods (ARIMA, SARIMA, Exponential Smoothing, Prophet, TBATS), machine learning models (Gradient Boosted Trees, Random Forests), and deep learning models (LSTMs, GRUs, Transformers).
• Model Evaluation & Optimization: Rigorously evaluate model performance using metrics such as MAPE, RMSE, and MAE; optimize models for accuracy, interpretability, and scalability.
• Productionalization & MLOps: Collaborate with Data Engineers and MLOps teams to build data pipelines, integrate models into production, and establish monitoring frameworks for real-time performance and data drift.
• Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders; present recommendations and influence decision-making.
• Experimentation & A/B Testing: Design and execute experiments, including A/B tests, to validate model effectiveness and measure business impact.
• Research & Innovation: Stay updated on advancements in time series forecasting, machine learning, and data science; propose new methodologies and tools to enhance forecasting capabilities.
• Mentorship (Optional): Mentor junior data scientists and share best practices within the team, depending on team structure.

Requirements

• 6?10 years of experience in data science with a focus on time series forecasting.
• Proficiency in designing and deploying forecasting models using classical statistical, machine learning, and deep learning techniques.
• Strong experience with ARIMA, SARIMA, Exponential Smoothing, Prophet, TBATS, Gradient Boosted Trees, Random Forests, LSTMs, GRUs, and Transformers.
• Expertise in exploratory data analysis and feature engineering for time series data.
• Experience with model evaluation metrics such as MAPE, RMSE, and MAE.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and productionalizing models.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting insights and recommendations.
• Ability to design and execute A/B tests and experiments.
• Continuous learning mindset and ability to innovate in forecasting methodologies.
