Compliance Risk Analyst (ICRM Surveillance)

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Risk Analyst with 5?8 years of experience in ICRM Surveillance within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and analyzing surveillance systems for monitoring trade and electronic communications to detect and resolve regulatory and policy violations. This role requires strong expertise in surveillance platforms such as SMARTS, knowledge of financial products, and a strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze surveillance alerts related to trade activity and electronic communications.
  • Configure, implement, and optimize surveillance scenarios and controls within SMARTS or similar surveillance platforms.
  • Investigate potential regulatory breaches, market abuse, insider trading, and policy violations.
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, risk, and technology teams to support surveillance initiatives.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and document findings from surveillance investigations.
  • Support regulatory reporting and audit requests related to surveillance activities.
  • Develop and maintain surveillance procedures, controls, and documentation.
  • Analyze trends and identify areas for improving surveillance effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in UAT testing and validation of surveillance system enhancements and rule changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, Compliance, or related field.
  • 5?8 years of experience in compliance surveillance, trade surveillance, or compliance risk management.
  • Hands-on experience with SMARTS or other surveillance platforms.
  • Strong understanding of financial products including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and market abuse regulations.
  • Experience in monitoring e-communications and trade surveillance alerts.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, or data analysis/reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced regulatory and operational environment.
