BIM Coordinator - Junior
The BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing multidisciplinary model coordination, ensuring design accuracy, clash-free integration, and alignment with project standards. This role supports project teams by facilitating collaboration between architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines while maintaining BIM execution standards. The BIM Coordinator acts as the technical bridge between designers, engineers, and project stakeholders to ensure constructible, coordinated, and data-rich models.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Coordination & Clash Management: Perform clash detection using Navisworks Manage. Analyze and classify clashes (hard, soft, workflow, clearance). Conduct and lead coordination meetings with consultants and contractors. Track clash resolution and maintain issue logs. Ensure timely closure of coordination issues.
- BIM Standards & Quality Control: Ensure models comply with BIM Execution Plan (BEP). Validate LOD/LOI compliance. Perform model audits and QA/QC checks. Enforce naming conventions, file structures, and data standards.
- Multidisciplinary Integration: Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP models. Review constructability and installation sequencing. Support 4D/5D integration readiness. Ensure alignment with project WBS and cost breakdown structures.
- Drawing & Documentation Support: Manage drawing releases from coordinated models. Support quantity take-offs (QTO) from models. Verify model accuracy before IFC submissions.
- Progress & Reporting: Track coordination KPIs (clash density, resolution time, model maturity). Prepare coordination reports for project management. Support progress monitoring through model updates.
- Automation & Efficiency: Implement Dynamo scripts to improve workflow efficiency. Support parametric family creation where required. Improve model performance and data cleanliness.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Experience: 4?8 years of BIM experience in building or infrastructure projects.
- Coordination: Proven experience in model coordination and clash detection.
- Technical Skills: Revit, Navisworks Manage, Dynamo (preferred), AutoCAD, 4D/5D Integration, LOD/LOI Standards.
- Key Competencies: Strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, problem-solving mindset, time management, and effective communication skills.
